Our Approach to Food

At The Full Plate we are passionate about food. We offer home cooking with a twist to please everyone from the discerning foodie to the picky preschooler. We like to mix it up with dishes from around the world.

We want you to enjoy delicious dinners with ease so we go to great lengths to find just the right ingredients for each dish. We freeze, thaw, bake, grill, broil, simmer, and sauté until we've got it right-- then we pass our experience on to you.

The Full Plate recipes are created and extensively tested by our team of accomplished culinary professionals. With over 80 years of combined experienced, our experts have developed recipes for restaurants, wineries, magazines, newspapers, and national brands including Sunset magazine, Cooking Light magazine, Grey Poupon, and Meridian Vineyards. They have appeared on television and radio, and their culinary expertise has enlightened many in cooking classes and stage demonstrations. They hold advanced degrees in foods and nutrition.

The Founder

In 2004, Lisa Alumkal and Sam Lee started The Full Plate inspired by the idea of making life simpler for busy people.

Lisa is an avid foodie, who has worked for over 18 years in the food business. She knows first-hand the challenges of feeding her family healthy meals while juggling the competing demands of work and home. Lisa currently lives in Montclair with her husband, son, and daughter.
